The legal aspects and implications of risk assessment

  Abstract

The main purposes of this paper are, first, to consider the legal position of the psychiatrist responsible for the assessment of the risks involved in the management of a dangerous person and, second, to consider what is being done to ease the doctor's position and, at the same time, satisfy public concern.
